Results of the meeting in Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine of March 18, 2024

The meeting in Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine was attended by three members of the Commission: Yaroslav Dukh, Roman Kydysiuk, Oleksii Omelyan.

1. The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine decided to admit Viktoriia Yakovleva to the qualification evaluation and participation in the competition for 550 vacant positions of judges of appellate courts announced by the decision of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine No. 94/zp-23 of September 14, 2023, (as amended).

The meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine was attended by 15 members of the Commission in plenary session: Roman Ihnatov, Mykhailo Bohonis, Liudmyla Volkova, Vitalii Gatseliuk, Yaroslav Dukh, Roman Kydysiuk, Nadiia Kobetska, Oleh Koliush, Ruslan Melnyk, Oleksii Omelyan, Andrii Pasichnyk, Roman Sabodash, Ruslan Sydorovych, Serhii Chumak, Halyna Shevchuk.

Attention! On March 20, 2024, a public discussion of the draft Anti-Corruption Programme of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine for 2024-2026 will be conducted

In order to receive proposals and comments from external stakeholders on the draft Anti-Corruption Programme of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine
for 2024-2026, a public discussion of the draft will be held online on March 20, 2024.

The event will start at 11:00.

The Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine took part in the study visit of representatives of judicial authorities to the Netherlands

For three days, from March 13 to 15, 2024, with the support of the “Fair, Transparent and Accountable Criminal Justice System in Ukraine” Project of the Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC), representatives of the judiciary and judicial self-government bodies of Ukraine took part in training activities held in the Hague, the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The issues of studying the dossier, conducting an interview and determining the results of the qualification evaluation of a judge for correspondence to the position held were considered

On March 15, 2024, the panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine postponed the interview with the judge of the Oktiabrskyi District Court of Poltava City Hanna Andriienko as part of the qualification evaluation of local court judges for correspondence to the position held.

The deadline for submission of documents for participation in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court has been extended until March 30, 2024

On March 15, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine made a decision to extend the deadline for submission of documents for participation in the competition for vacant positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court and the Chamber Appeal of the High Anti-Corruption Court announced by the Commission’s decision No. 145/zp-23 of November 23, 2023 (as amended) until March 30, 2024.

Commission recommended the appointment of nine winners of the competition to the position of a judge, three were rejected in a recommendation

On March 14, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in Panels, held interviews with 14 winners of the competition for vacant positions of local court judges announced on September 14, 2023.

Based on the results of the interviews, the Commission decided to recommend for the appointment:

The Deputy Chairman of the Commission made a visit to Strasbourg to discuss Ukraine’s implementation of ECHR decisions

The Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, Ruslan Sydorovych, made a visit to the institutions of the Council of Europe, dedicated to the discussion of Ukraine’s implementation of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which took place on March 11 and 12, 2024, in the city of Strasbourg, France.

Commission recommended the appointment of three judges

On March 13, 2024, the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, at its meeting, considered the issue of recommendations for appointment to the positions of judges.

The judges passed the qualification evaluation and were recognized by the Commission as suitable for the position.

Taking into account the results of the qualification evaluation, the Commission decided to recommend:
