1 850 candidates were admitted to competition for 550 positions of appellate court judges

Please be informed, that based on the results of the consideration of 2 076 materials of individuals who have expressed their intention to become a judge of the appellate court within the framework of the competition announced on 14.09.2023, the Commission decided to:

admit to the competition 1 850 candidates;

deny the access to the competition for 204 individuals;

Commission recommends the appointment of two winners of the competition to the position of a judge

On April 3, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in Panels, held interviews with three winners of the competition for vacant positions of local court judges announced on September 14, 2023.

Based on the results of the interviews, the Commission decided to recommend for the appointment:

International organizations nominated 12 candidates for the Public Council of International Experts

Three international organizations have provided the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine with information on 12 candidates for selection to the Public Council of International Experts (PCIE), which will assist the Commission in conducting the second competition for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), announced by the decision of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine

The Commission recommended the appointment of a judge

On March 27, 2024, the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of recommending Tetiana Antipova for appointment as a judge of the Rozivskyi Raion Court of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

A judge who has been appointed for a term of five years before the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (regarding Judiciary)” shall be evaluated for correspondence to the position in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The Chairman of the Commission, Roman Ihnatov, resigned

On March 27, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine satisfied the application of the Chairman of the Commission, Roman Ihnatov, to dismiss him from the position of a member of the HQCJU at his own request.

Please be informed, that on June 1, 2023, Roman Ihnatov was appointed as a member of the Commission from among judges by the decision of the High Council of Justice. On June 6, 2023, the Commission members elected Roman Ihnatov as the Chairman of the HQCJ.

To the attention of candidates participating in the competition for the positions of judges of appellate courts

Please be informed, that a person who participates in the competition and is not obliged to submit an annual declaration of a person authorised to perform the functions of the state or local self-government is obliged to submit such a declaration as a candidate for the position of a judge annually by April 1, by filling it out on the official website of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.

On March 26, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in Panels, held interviews with 15 winners of the competition for vacant positions of local court judges announced on September 14, 2023.
