On July 1, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered in plenary session the issue of suitability of judges of local and appellate courts with the positions held.
Following the meeting, the Commission made the following decisions:
On June 26, 2024, the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of recommending Hennadii Valihurskyi for appointment as a judge of the Kuibyshevskyi Raion Court of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
A judge who has been appointed for a term of five years before the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (regarding Judiciary)” shall be evaluated for suitability for the position in accordance with the procedure established by law.
On June 25, 2024, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, at its meeting, examined dossiers, conducted interviews and determined the results of the qualification evaluation of local court judges.
Decisions concerning two judges were made as part of the qualification evaluation for their suitability for the position:
Due to the difficult situation in the Ukrainian energy system, we would like to inform you that the official website of the Commission will not function over the weekend, which will make the electronic declaration system for submitting declarations of judicial integrity and declarations of judicial family ties unavailable.
The judicial career electronic cabinet will also be out of service on weekends.
On June 19, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine approved the Regulations on the procedure for passing the qualification exam and the methodology for evaluating candidates.
The new regulation of the Commission relates, in particular, to the qualification evaluation procedures within the framework of competitions for vacant positions of judges of the courts of appeal and the High Anti-Corruption Court, which are conducted by the Commission.
Please be informed that on June 19, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine decided to appoint a qualification evaluation within the framework of the competition for vacant positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court and the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
On June 20, 2024, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, at its meeting, held interviews and determined the results of the qualification evaluation of two local court judges.
Based on the results of the qualification evaluation for the compliance with the position held, the Commission made the following decisions:
We would like to inform you that after reviewing 238 materials of individuals who have expressed their intention to become a judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court within the competition announced on November 23, 2023, the Commission:
admitted to the competition 161 candidates;
denied admission to the competition for 77 candidates.
On June 17, 2024, the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of suitability of judges of local and appellate courts for their positions held.
