Competition to the сommercial сourts of appeal: the ability to administer justice of three candidates will be determined by the plenary session of the Commission, one candidate did not confirm the ability to administer justice

On May 29, 2025, at the session of the Second Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, interviews were held and the results of the qualification evaluation of four candidates for the positions of judges of commercial courts of appeal were determined.

Based on the results of the qualification evaluation, the Commission made the following decisions:

To the attention of persons intending to become judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court

Please be informed, that the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges” Regarding Clarification of Procedures of the Competition for the Position of a Judge and Secondment of Judges” (No. 4433-IX), adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on May 14, 2025, has been submitted to the President of Ukraine for signature. This law substantially amends the procedural aspects of the selection process for the position of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Qualification evaluation of a judge of Prylutskyi City-Raion Court of Chernihiv Oblast was terminated

On May 28, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in plenary session considered the issue of terminating the qualification evaluation of a judge of the Prylutskyi City-Raion Court of Chernihiv Oblast, Volodymyr Bezdidko, for his suitability for the position held.

The issue of secondment of judges to the Desnianskyi District Court of Chernihiv City is scheduled for consideration

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a judge may, with his or her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a submission from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

The issue of secondment of judges to the Velykooleksandrivskyi Raion Court of Kherson Oblast is scheduled for consideration

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a judge may, with his or her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a submission from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
