The Chairman of the Commission took part in the presentation of the Shadow Report on Chapter 23 “Justice and Fundamental Rights” by non-governmental organizations

On October 29, 2024, the event “Ukraine’s Path to the EU: Key findings from the Shadow Report on Title 23 “Justice and Fundamental Rights” and the Second EU-Ukraine Bilateral Session on Chapter 23 (Cluster 1 “Fundamentals of the EU Accession Process”)” took place in Kyiv, organized with the support of the EU Project “Pravo-Justice” and a coalition of civil society organizations.

One judge was recognized as suitable for the position held

On October 29, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held interviews and determined the results of the qualification evaluation of six local court judges for their suitability for the position and the results of the initial qualification evaluation of one judge.

Based on the results of the qualification evaluation, the Commission made the following decisions:

In an interview with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, the Commission members Vitaliі Gatseliuk and Ruslan Sydorovych spoke about their participation in a bilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine and the European Commission on the official screening of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law on September 17, 2024.

The qualification evaluation of three judges for their compliance with the positions held was terminated

 

On October 16, 2024, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in plenary meeting considered the issue of termination of the qualification evaluation of three judges for suitability for their positions.

Based on the results of the meeting, the Commission made the following decisions:

Information on the declaration of integrity of a judge is considered

On October 15, 2024, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of inaccuracy (including incompleteness) of the statements made by judge of Dnipropetrovsk Administrative Court of Appeals (now the Third Administrative Court of Appeal) Serhii Chumak in the declaration of integrity of a judge for 2016.
