According to part one of Article 72 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, in order to participate in the selection process, a candidate for the position of a judge must submit, inter alia, a declaration of a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government.

In order to properly prepare candidates for the position of a local court judge and judges who intend to be transferred to another local court, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has published typical questions for cognitive ability testing on its official website for the qualification exam.

On February 12, 2025, during a meeting of the Second Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of submitting a recommendation for the secondment of judges to another courts of the same level and specialization for the administration of justice was discussed.

On February 12, 2025, during a meeting of the First Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of submitting a recommendation for the secondment of judges to another courts of the same level and specialization for the administration of justice was discussed.

On February 12, 2025, during a plenary meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of recommending candidates for appointment to the positions of judges was discussed.

On February 11, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in partnership with the Ukrainian Bar Association, held the third regional Questions and Answers session with lawyers interested in participating in the selection of judges to local courts. After Lviv and Dnipro, this time the questions were answered in Kharkiv by Deputy Сhairman of the Commission Oleksii Omelian and Commission member Roman Sabodash.

On February 11, 2025, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held interviews and determined the results of the qualification evaluation of two local courts judges for their suitability for the positions held.

Based on the results of the qualification evaluation, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine made the following decisions:

Please be informed that on February 17, 2025 at 17:00, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (9, General Shapoval St.,Kyiv) will hold a special joint meeting with the Public Council of International Experts, during which the results of the consideration of the issue of suitability of candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court for the criteria provided for in part four of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court” will be announced.

On February 10, 2025, the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of suitability of judges of local and appeal courts for their positions.

On February 08, 2025, the regional Questions and Answers session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine continued with lawyers interested in participating in the selection of judges to local courts. After Lviv, the second such event was held in Dnipro, where Yaroslav Dukh and Serhii Chumak answered questions from the audience.
