On September 24, 2025, Ruslan Sydorovych, a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, took part in a meeting of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine dedicated to the progress and coordination of joint efforts to implement the Roadmap on the Rule of Law.
During the event, the interim results of the implementation of the tasks set out in the Roadmap were reviewed, and further needs for international expertise and resources for their effective implementation were discussed. Representatives of state authorities and international partners emphasised the important role of this document for Ukraine’s progress on the path to the European Union.
Ruslan Sydorovych informed the participants about the results of the Commission’s work within the framework of the Roadmap, where the HQCJ acts as the main executor of certain measures and as a co-executor in cooperation with other institutions. In particular, he highlighted the following achievements:
- successful completion of three stages of candidate selection for local courts;
- the development and submission for public discussion of a draft Regulation on the regular assessment of judges;
- progress in filling vacant positions in the courts of appeal.
The event became an effective platform for coordinating approaches and confirming the readiness of all interested parties to move in the same direction. Participants emphasised that a clear action plan, combined with the support of international partners and coordinated cooperation, will enable concrete results to be achieved and strengthen confidence in the judicial system.
The discussion brought together representatives of state authorities, civil society, and international technical assistance partners.
