On July 24, 2023, the issue of secondment of judges to the Babushkinskyі District Court of Dnipropetrovsk was scheduled for consideration

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a judge may, with his/her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a proposal from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

The Commission will carry out a repeated automated distribution of cases among the members of the HQCJ regarding the continuation of evaluation procedures

On July 20, 2023, a meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of continuing the evaluation procedures provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to carry out a repeated automated distribution of cases among the Commission members in respect of:

Competitions to fill 7 vacant positions in local general courts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and 35 vacant positions in local courts were extended

On July 20, 2023, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the issue of continuing the competition procedures that were not completed by the previous composition of the Commission.

In particular, it was decided to extend two competitions.

The Commission appealed to the HCJ and SJA to determine the number of judges in local and appellate courts

At the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held on July 20, 2023, the Commission considered an appeal to the High Council of Justice and the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine to determine the number of judges in local and appellate courts.

The Commission addressed the HCJ and SJA to resolve the issue of determining the number of judges in such courts.

The term of judges’ secondment to two courts has been extended

On July 19, 2023, at the meeting of the Second Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, it was decided to extend the term for consideration of the issue of judges’ secondment to two courts.

Having reviewed the notification of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine on the need to second judges, the Commission extended the deadline for consideration of the secondment of judges to:

On July 20, 2023, at 11:00, the Commission will hold a meeting to consider the following issues:

I. On approval of the composition of the permanent panels of the Commission.

II. On appeal to the High Council of Justice and the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine to resolve the issue of determining the number of judges in local and appellate courts.

5 public organizations do not meet the requirements for participation in the meetings of representatives of public associations

On July 27, 2023, at a meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of compliance of public associations that submitted documents to the Commission with the requirements for participation in the meeting of representatives of public associations to establish the Public Integrity Council was considered.
